unity Co-op is a Christ-centered, diverse, equitable, and inclusive homeschool cooperative that offers a safe and connected community, a rich and robust education, and above all else, radical love to children of all ages and all families from all walks of life.
God called us to breathe life into Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s vision of “the beloved community,” a community in which people of every color and background come together in peace and harmony, in which differences are not ignored or downplayed but rather recognized and celebrated, in which the intrinsic value and dignity of every person as an image-bearer of God is revered.
Foundational to Beloved Community Co-op is the Agape love of Christ, which Dr. King described as: “means understanding, redeeming good will for all men…Agape does not begin by discriminating between worthy and unworthy people, or any qualities people possess. It begins by loving others for their sakes. It is an entirely ‘neighbor-regarding concern for others,’ which discovers the neighbor in every man it meets.” -- Dr. MLK, Jr.
It is an actionable love in which not only open hearts but also helping hands are extended to answer the prompting from Micah 6:8 to “Do Justice, and Love Mercy, and Walk Humbly” with the Lord. After all, faith without actions and deeds is no faith at all. The Beloved Community Co-op seeks to reflect God’s kingdom as a vibrant, rich, multi-colored tapestry. It is a place to love and be loved.

Mission Statement
Beloved Community Co-op is a Christ-centered, diverse, equitable, and inclusive homeschool cooperative that offers a safe and connected community, a rich and robust education, and above all else, radical love to children of all ages and all families from all walks of life.
Vision
Beloved Community Co-op partners with parents to educate and empower children to love and serve God in heart, mind, and soul and ALL His people (Matt 22:37-40). We seek to develop humble leaders who are strong in Christ-like character, rooted in the confidence of His love and sacrifice, and equipped with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to live out their God-designed purpose, in any place and space to which He calls.

Accordingly, Beloved Community Co-op maintains the following policies:
Anti-racist
Beloved Community Co-op is committed to anti-racist principles; we are a community of learners working together to create spaces that nurture children of diverse ethnic and racial backgrounds. Because the needs and aspirations of Black, Brown, Hispanic, Latino, Asian and Indigenous children and families are so often de-centered, Beloved Community Co-op centers them. We utilize anti-racist curriculum and pedagogy whenever possible. We adhere to community-wide anti-racist practices that humbly listen to, value, and advance the hope and needs of minority and marginalized students, families, and teachers. We are committed to doing the work required to end racism: listening, learning, repairing, taking risks, disrupting, and dismantling all the ways racism shows up in our lives and communities.
Anti-discrimination
Beloved Community Co-op will not discriminate in its admission of families based upon race, color, religion, creed, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, or physical or mental disability.
Anti-harassment
Beloved Community Co-op is committed to maintaining an environment that prohibits all forms of harassment by or toward adults or children based on race, color, religion, creed, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, physical or mental disability or other legally protected characteristics. Harassment is defined as unwanted physical contact or sexual advances; use of epithets, inappropriate jokes, comments or innuendos; obscene or harassing telephone calls, emails, letters, other forms of communication; and any other conduct which interferes with an individual’s performance or creates a hostile environment.
Zero Tolerance
Beloved Community Co-op has zero-tolerance for any type of abuse or misconduct including but not limited to sexual, emotional, spiritual, and physical. Every adult within the co-op is required to uphold the safety and protection of all youth.
